Passengers travelled by stagecoach, freight was brought to the Cariboo in horse drawn freight wagons pulled by 8, 10 or 12 horse teams. Freight wagons were often hooked up in tandem and the whole outfit controlled by one driver, who often rode a horse on the wheel team.
